Effectively controls most algaea common to freshwater fish ponds.  It kills growing algae and prevents algae from recurring.

Add one piece per 200L or one complete block of 4 pieces per 800 L of water. Distribute evenly throughout the pond.  Blocks will dissolve over 7-14 days, depending on water conditions and circulation.

This block is best used as a preventative or when algae first appears, or after cleaning an algae infested pond.

Remove heavy algae before treatment.

To calculate approximate pond capacity – length (cm) x Width (cm) x Depth (m) and multiply by 1000 for Litres

Caution – the Algae block is harmless to plants and wildlife if dosage is adhered.  Do not use more than the recommended dose.

DO NOT use in ponds containing fish intended for human consumption.

Keep out of reach of children.

Pond Algae Blocks

  • Apply one tablet per plant, 3 times per year.
    1. Begin feeding early spring, as the new growth starts to appear on your water plants.
    2. Repeat at the start of summer to encourage new flowers and healthy leaf growth.
    3. Third application at the start of autumn to keep healthy growth up until winter.

Do not feed over winter when plants are dormant.
Begin feeding again at the start of spring as recommended above.

TO APPLY: Drop one tablet per plant into the water near the root system.  It will slowly dissolve and become available for your plant to absorb nutrients.
Alternatively, make a hole in the soil near the plants roots and push the tablet into the hole.  Cover the hole back over with soil.  This will help stop algae using the nutrients.

REPOTTING: When planting your water plant, you want the top of the growing tip to be level with the top of the pot. Work out how deep you will need to plant your water plant in the pot so the tip is level with the top, then fill the pot with your soil to where the roots would start. Place one of Triffid Park's Water Plant Fertiliser Tablets on the soil, sit the water plant beside the fertiliser tablet and fill the rest of the pot with your soil to just below the growing tip.  Pat down firmly, then place a layer of small pebbels or gravel around the top to stop the mix floating. Take care not to cover the growing tip.

FISH AND FROG FRIENDLY: we believe this product to be safe for fish and frogs as both live happily in our ponds fed by these water plant fertiliser tablets.  However use caution if needed.
